PLDT taps Transpacific Broadcast
for VoIP in Asia

The Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT) said Transpacific
Broadcast Group International Inc. (TBGI), a provider of voice over
internet Protocol (VoIP), is its client for the i-Gate internet
service to several Asian countries.
TBGI offers PLDT’s i-Gate internet service to Japan, Singapore,
Indonesia, Thailand, Korea, Malaysia, and Taiwan. i-Gate is a
product of PLDT that TBGI has availed of in line with their services
as an internet service provider (ISP). It is a service that PLDT
alone offers.
It was earlier reported that TBGI is a partner of PLDT for VoIP
services.
TBGI became one of the first non-telecommunications companies to be
allowed by government to act as internet telephony reseller of PLDT
last month.
